There are many excellent dentists on the island that are well educated and trained in their field. One of them is Dr. Elizabeth Sugg. Dr Sugg stands out because she exhibits many qualities that you don’t often see in one person. She is friendly, warm, understanding, patient, kind, empathetic, gentle, compassionate, and caring. She listens to you and then takes her time explaining what she is doing, why it needs to be done, and what choices of treatment are available. I left her office with confidence in her, trust in her and a new friend. I am now a patient of hers and looking forward to seeing her again.

Dr Sugg has been my dentist for the past 14 years. In fact, over those 14 years, she provided dental care to four generations of my family. Dr Sugg embodiers everything anyone would desire in a great dentist: professional, friendly, careful, gentle, safe, continually updating equipment and technique, and always has the best interest and health of the patient in mind. She manages a clean and well organized office with competent and friendly staff. She is accommodating to emergency situations, and always manages to fit in patients in need. She is consistent and is always fully engaged in her work. Dr Suggs move to South Carolina is Cleveland’s loss and Hilton Head’s gain.

I found myself in between dentists when I had an emergency over Memorial Day weekend and was in a significant amount of pain. After another dentist had to cancel our emergency appointment due to a family emergency, I found myself on the phone with Dr. Sugg asking her to come in on her holiday. She was very gracious and did so, providing treatment that has me on the mend. I will forever be grateful. Dr Sugg is the most down to earth, kind, and compassionate dentist I have ever seen. I was very comfortable and relaxed in her care. She took excellent care of me and has my highest recommendation. She had the opportunity to charge an exorbitant amount due to the care I received and because the cost was beyond reasonable, I left thinking “This is a woman who really cares!” Such care is rare to find! Im happy to say that my search for a dentist is over. If you are searching for a dentist, please look no further.

Dr Suggs was great! I had to get a tooth extraction and was incredibly nervous, but Suggs had me laughing and joking while she was doing preparations. I told her the tooth was getting extracted (rather than a root canal) for financial reasons, and she understood. She numbed me up rather than putting me under and went to work! It was fast and painless. She said when I save enough for an implant, to give her a ring. I can guarantee you I will! Thanks!!

Ocean dental and Doctor Elizabeth Sugg saved my smile! This dental practice excels in both customer service and skill. Sitting on the beach in Hilton Head, ten hours from home, I bit into a carrot only to find my long standing frontal bridge was gone. I was devastated and not a pretty sight with my four front teeth in my hands, then I saw that one of the anchor teeth was broken.

Having no experience with local dentists, I called several practices and lisped my crisis. All the others could offer were appointments sometime the next day. Ocean dental not only calmed me down, but gave me an appointment within the hour that afternoon, and provided helpful directions across the island. Dr Sugg graciously stayed beyond regular office hours to do a permanent reattachment of my bridge, and I left Ocean Dental fully able to enjoy the rest of my vacation.

The staff readily worked with my existing dental insurance. If I lived in Hilton Head, Dr Sugg and Ocean Dental would be my dentist

Although I must admit I’m not a fan of the drilling, I always enjoyed walking into your cheery office and receiving such a friendly welcome from all of your staff. But even more importantly, I knew I would have professional, personal, and cutting edge care from people who were concerned about me.

Elizabeth, you are an excellent dentist. You are extremely knowledgable about your profession, and your work is thorough and exact. You are eager to take the time to fully explain what you are doing and why. You take a great deal of pride in your work, and this attitude carries over to your staff, which is very competent and hard working. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to have you as my dentist for the past few years. Thank you so much for the wonderful job that you have done for me and for our whole family!
